Delhi Metro gets power boost with new receiving sub-station

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on January 30, 2026, inaugurated a new Electric Receiving Sub-Station (RSS) at Park Street near the Central Vista area, officials said.

The sub-station has been constructed over a period of 18 months and is designed to provide uninterrupted power supply for Delhi Metro operations on key corridors, including the Airport Line, Violet Line (Line 6) and the upcoming Central Vista Metro Line, reported The Times of India.

Officials said the facility is equipped with advanced automation systems, energy-efficient technology, and modern security features. The RSS has also been built in line with green building standards.

Authorities said the commissioning of the sub-station will strengthen power reliability for metro services and support the expansion of public transport infrastructure in the national capital.
