Coimbatore to get public swimming pool at VOC Park

The Coimbatore City Corporation has begun work on a public swimming pool at VOC Park in Ward 83, following administrative approval from the Tamil Nadu government, officials said.

The project is estimated to cost Rs 1.94 crore and will include a 25 metre by 13.5 metre swimming pool along with a separate children’s pool, reported The Times of India.

Additional facilities planned at the site include toilets, changing rooms, water tanks, and a CCTV surveillance system with a monitoring room.

Officials said the pool is expected to cater to around 500 visitors per day.

Supporting infrastructure such as roads and parking facilities for 50 motorcycles and 25 cars will also be developed as part of the project.
