Surat receives infra boost as projects worth Rs 18,800 crore move forward

Infrastructure and development projects worth around Rs 18,800 crore are moving forward in Surat and surrounding regions as part of ongoing urban and industrial expansion efforts in Gujarat.

The projects cover transport infrastructure, energy systems, public-service facilities and urban development works intended to support future growth in the region.

Officials said the investments are aimed at strengthening connectivity, improving civic infrastructure and supporting economic activity across Surat and nearby areas.

Surat has emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing urban centres, driven by manufacturing, diamond processing, textiles and infrastructure investment.

Authorities indicated that implementation of the projects will take place in phases across multiple sectors.

The investments are expected to support both industrial expansion and urban development requirements in the city and surrounding districts.
