Telangana appoints Singapore firm to prepare master plan for Bharat Future City

The Telangana government has selected Singapore-based DP Architects to prepare the master plan for the proposed Bharat Future City project being developed under the Future City Development Authority (FCDA).

Officials said the firm emerged as the lowest bidder among six contenders and is expected to receive the formal work order during the inauguration of the Bharat Future City office at Meerkhanpet on June 10.

According to officials, the master plan will cover an area of 765 sq km, with immediate planning focused on around 30,000 acres earmarked for priority development, reported The Times of India.

The proposed development includes dedicated zones for life sciences, electric vehicles, energy, electronics manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, data centres, education and healthcare.

Officials said the consultant has been given nine months to prepare the master plan.

The state government has positioned Bharat Future City as a major long-term urban and investment project intended to support industrial growth, employment generation and planned urban expansion around Hyderabad.

Authorities said the statutory master plan is aimed at ensuring integrated development while avoiding fragmented growth patterns across the proposed city region.
