Surat gets major infrastructure boost with new SMC projects

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 342 crore under the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), officials said.

Projects worth Rs 173.78 crore were inaugurated, while new works amounting to Rs 169 crore were launched, reported The Times of India.

Among the key projects is the redevelopment of 1,304 houses at Gotalawadi, Katargam, being carried out under the Public Housing Redevelopment Scheme through a public-private partnership model.

Officials said the projects are part of ongoing efforts to expand urban infrastructure and improve housing and civic facilities in the city.
