Indore approves Rs 1,500 crore plan focused on water and sanitation

The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has approved a development plan worth over Rs 1,500 crore, with a focus on water infrastructure and road sanitation, officials said.

The plan is being implemented under the Amrit 2.0 project and includes the construction of new drinking water tanks and the replacement and expansion of existing water distribution networks.

Officials said nearly 38,850 metres of clean water pipelines will be laid as part of the project, reported The Times of India.

The plan also includes a Rs 175 crore tender for the procurement of 30 mechanical road sweeping machines, along with works related to maintenance of green spaces and traffic dividers.

The initiative aims to strengthen civic infrastructure as the city continues to grow.
