Patna Metro invites Rs 121 crore bid for underground electrical works

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which is implementing the Patna Metro project, has invited bids worth ₹121.12 crore for electrical and cabling works on the underground section of Patna Metro’s Corridor-2, also known as the Blue Line.

The tender covers the design, detailed engineering, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 25kV AC traction using rigid overhead equipment, 33kV auxiliary substations and associated cabling for the corridor’s underground stretch.

The tender comes as tunnelling work on a nearby section of Corridor-2 approaches completion. Around 400 metres of tunnelling remains on the underground stretch between the Malahi Pakri ramp near Rajendra Nagar and Akashvani.

The section will add six underground stations to the Patna Metro network. Once tunnelling is completed, the project will move into the systems stage, covering track laying, overhead electrical infrastructure, cabling and signalling.

Patna Metro has already begun services on a 6.2-km priority corridor, which forms part of Corridor-2.

The latest tender marks another step towards equipping the underground section with the electrical systems required for train operations. As tunnelling nears completion, work is simultaneously advancing towards the installation of the systems and infrastructure needed to bring the corridor into service.
