Delhi Metro awards Rs 138.70 Crore Sanoth Depot contract

Delhi Metro’s Phase 4 expansion has moved another step forward with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) awarding a ₹138.70 crore contract to Lisha Engineers Private Limited for civil and infrastructure work at Sanoth Depot.

The depot is being developed to support the upcoming Rithala-Kundli corridor, part of the Red Line extension under Delhi Metro’s Phase 4 network.

The contract covers construction of depot buildings, workshops, inspection facilities and other supporting infrastructure required for the operation and maintenance of trains running on the new line.

The award comes amid further progress on the Rithala-Narela-Kundli corridor, where DMRC has also floated civil tenders for stations and viaduct construction. The Phase 4 network is continuing to move from planning into active construction across multiple packages.

The Sanoth Depot will form an important part of the supporting infrastructure for the corridor, providing facilities needed to maintain and operate trains once the extension becomes operational.

With work progressing across depots, stations and viaduct packages, the Rithala-Kundli corridor is emerging as a key component of Delhi Metro’s ongoing Phase 4 expansion.
