NHAI identifies 17 highway assets for monetisation in FY27

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has identified 17 highway assets covering 1,692.5 km for monetisation during the 2026-27 financial year.

Officials said the assets would be monetised through the Toll-Operate-Transfer (TOT) and Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) models.

The programme is aimed at attracting private investment and generating resources for future highway and infrastructure development projects.

Authorities indicated that highway stretches located across multiple states would be included in the monetisation exercise.

NHAI has increasingly used asset monetisation as a mechanism to fund expansion of the national highway network.

Officials said proceeds generated through the programme would be reinvested into new road and connectivity projects.

Infrastructure monetisation has become a key component of India’s broader infrastructure financing strategy.
