Ludhiana to fast-track Rs 1,900 crore highway projects

Highway projects worth over Rs 1,900 crore in Ludhiana are set to be fast-tracked to improve connectivity in and around the city.

The projects include key routes such as Ludhiana–Bathinda road, Southern Bypass and Ludhiana–Ropar road.

Once completed, these corridors are expected to function as a ring road system, helping divert traffic away from the city centre.

Improved connectivity to Halwara airport is also part of the plan, reported The Times of India.

Officials have emphasised the need to expedite execution to meet infrastructure requirements.

The projects are aimed at easing congestion and improving traffic flow across industrial and residential areas.

Work on these corridors is expected to strengthen regional connectivity.

The development forms part of ongoing infrastructure expansion in Punjab.
