Kanpur to get Rs 988 crore elevated road from Gol Chauraha to Ramadevi

An elevated road project from Gol Chauraha to Ramadevi has been approved in Kanpur at a cost of Rs 988.30 crore.

The project will cover a length of around 10.2 km.

It is aimed at reducing congestion along one of the city’s busiest corridors.

Traffic movement on this stretch has been affected by increasing vehicle volumes, reported The Times of India.

The elevated road is expected to provide an alternative route for smoother movement.

The foundation stone for the project is expected to be laid in April 2026.

The development forms part of efforts to improve urban road infrastructure in Kanpur.

The project is expected to benefit daily commuters and ease traffic pressure in the area.
