Gurugram drops double-decker plan, to build metro and flyover separately

Gurugram has dropped plans for a proposed double-decker corridor following a feasibility review.

Instead, authorities will proceed with separate construction of a metro line and an elevated road.

The revised plan includes a 3.3 km elevated road project with an estimated cost of Rs 182 crore.

Changes in alignment are also being considered in areas including Sector 10 and Sector 37, reported The Hindustan Times.

The decision comes after concerns regarding design feasibility and implementation challenges.

Separating the metro and road components is expected to simplify execution.

The project is part of ongoing efforts to improve connectivity in the city.
