Infopark’s Irumpanam Campus in Kochi to Follow Mixed-Township Model

The upcoming Phase IV campus of Infopark Kochi at Irumpanam will be developed as a mixed-township project combining IT, residential and commercial spaces.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced the plan, saying the model will create jobs while ensuring balanced urban growth.

The state government has approved the transfer of 33.5 acres of Traco Cable Company land to Infopark for about Rs 200 crore.

The new campus will have nearly five million sq ft of IT space and is expected to generate close to 50,000 direct jobs.

Located near the Water Metro, Kochi Metro and the Seaport-Airport Road, the site offers strong connectivity. The state has pegged the overall investment at around Rs 3,000 crore.

Officials said the township will include residential and retail areas along with office complexes, allowing employees to live and work within the same ecosystem.

The government said the campus will follow sustainable design standards and green-building norms. Open spaces, walk-to-work options and upgraded civic amenities will form part of the master plan.

Kochi’s emergence as a preferred IT and services hub is being driven by lower costs and talent availability.

The Irumpanam expansion is expected to boost the city’s technology footprint and attract new-age firms in AI and global capability centres.
