Patna Smart City to Install 300 New CCTV Cameras

Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL) has announced that 300 new CCTV cameras will be installed across the city to strengthen safety and traffic monitoring.

Officials said the cameras will be placed at key intersections, markets, and public spaces, integrated with the city’s Command and Control Centre. The move aims to improve both security and traffic management.

According to PSCL officials, the project is part of the city’s smart governance initiatives, which include expanding e-surveillance and improving data-driven decision-making for civic management.

The cameras will also be equipped with advanced features such as automatic number plate recognition to help traffic police enforce rules more effectively.

Residents welcomed the initiative, saying it would help in reducing crime and improving traffic discipline. Officials confirmed that installation work has already begun and is expected to be completed by early 2026.
