Mechanised parking facility and food plaza to come up at Varanasi’s Assi Ghat

The Varanasi Municipal Corporation is developing a mechanised multi-level parking facility and a modern food plaza at Assi Ghat, officials said.

The projects are being undertaken under the Chief Minister Global City Development Scheme, reported The Times of India.

The parking facility involves an investment of Rs 9.84 crore and is aimed at addressing vehicle congestion caused by increasing tourist and pilgrim traffic in the area.

In addition, a food plaza costing Rs 2.14 crore is being developed to enhance visitor amenities.

Officials said both projects are progressing rapidly and are expected to be completed within four months.
