TVS Credit tech centre inaugurated in Assam, to scale up 200 skilled jobs

A TVS Credit technology centre was inaugurated in Assam by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, an official statement said on Saturday.

The centre was established following a memorandum of understanding signed during the Advantage Assam 2.0 investment summit in February this year. The state government said the facility aligns with its vision of building a strong digital ecosystem and supporting youth skilling in line with the requirements of the digital era.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the centre on Friday, Sarma said it would play a significant role in strengthening technology capability in Assam as well as other states in the Northeast.

The centre has been designed to function as a key hub supporting TVS Credit’s artificial intelligence initiatives, automation processes and smarter workflows. It will focus on training more than 200 youths for technology roles.

The chief minister said the centre would perform several critical functions of TVS Credit from Assam.

In the first phase, 25 technology professionals will be hired by TVS Credit, of whom 21 are already on board. According to the statement, they are currently being trained and are working on different high-end projects.

Sarma said that over the next three years, TVS Credit plans to scale the centre to more than 200 highly skilled technology roles, creating sustainable and high-value employment opportunities for the youth.

The initiative will also help retain talent within the state by making such opportunities available locally, he added.
