Telangana summit may see Modi and Rahul Gandhi share stage

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has invited both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to attend the Telangana Rising Global Summit this week, raising the possibility of the two national leaders sharing a stage at one of the first major events hosted by the new state government.

Reddy met the prime minister on Wednesday in the Parliament premises, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and handed over a specially printed invitation for the summit, which will be held on December 8-9 at Bharat Future City in Hyderabad. He apprised Modi of the state’s goal of achieving a USD 3 trillion economy in line with the Centre’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

According to the official statement, the chief minister informed Modi that Telangana had prepared the Telangana Rising 2047 Vision Document setting out sector-wise growth targets and long-term development plans. The summit will feature business leaders, policymakers, global investors and senior officials from India and abroad.

Reddy has also extended an invitation to Rahul Gandhi to attend the summit as a special guest. Officials said the Congress government intends to showcase the state’s economic roadmap and emerging investment opportunities to both national leadership and global stakeholders.

The Telangana Rising Global Summit will include discussions on technology, innovation, infrastructure, sustainability, manufacturing and services, along with exhibitions and policy sessions featuring domestic and international participants.

The government said the event is designed to present the state’s long-term strategy under the Telangana Rising 2047 vision and to align its developmental plans with the Centre’s goals for Viksit Bharat.
