Telangana to roll out 1.05 crore new ration cards on Independence Day

Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy will launch the distribution of 1.05 crore newly sanctioned PDS ration cards on Independence Day at Sangareddy town.

State Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy said on Thursday that similar distribution programmes would be held across all 119 assembly constituencies in the state on August 15.

He said the distribution of the newly sanctioned ration cards is aimed at strengthening the food security of poor families and ensuring that the benefits of the Public Distribution System (PDS) reach all eligible beneficiaries.

The minister said the programme marks a key milestone in the implementation of the state government’s welfare schemes.

The 1.05 crore newly sanctioned cards will be added to the existing more than one crore ration cards in the state.
