Pune gets Rs 1,472 crore allocation for infra and tourism projects

Pune district has received a Rs 1,472 crore allocation under the District Planning Committee (DPC) budget for the 2026-27 financial year, with funds earmarked for infrastructure, tourism and civic development projects.

The announcement was made by deputy chief minister and Pune district guardian minister Sunetra Pawar.

Officials said the allocation includes funding for roads, water supply, tourism infrastructure and urban civic upgrades across the district.

A major portion of the allocation — around Rs 718 crore — has been earmarked for the Pune Grand Tour cycling project.

Authorities have also sanctioned Rs 282 crore for development work linked to the Bhimashankar region ahead of Kumbh-related activity, reported The Times of India.

Officials said the projects are aimed at improving regional connectivity, tourism infrastructure and public facilities.

The district administration is expected to begin phased implementation of approved works during the financial year.

The allocation forms part of broader infrastructure expansion and tourism planning efforts across Pune district.

The development highlights increasing state investment in regional urban and tourism infrastructure projects.
