Fresh workers’ protest erupts in Noida, police deployed near Sector 8

A fresh workers’ protest broke out in Noida on Friday (April 17) near Sector 8 Jama Masjid, with police deployed to manage the situation.

Workers gathered in large numbers raising demands related to salary hikes and working conditions.

The protest follows earlier unrest in industrial areas of the city, with similar concerns raised by labour groups.

Police personnel were deployed at the site to maintain law and order and regulate movement in the area, reported The Times of India.

Officials monitored the situation as crowds assembled and traffic movement was affected on surrounding roads.

Political delegations from Samajwadi Party and CPI(M) also moved to the site to engage with protesting workers.

Authorities have not reported any major violence but remained on alert.

The development reflects ongoing labour tensions in the NCR industrial belt.
