Nashik plans two new truck terminus projects to reduce city congestion

The Nashik civic body has proposed two new truck terminus projects aimed at reducing congestion caused by heavy vehicles within city limits.

Authorities said the proposed facilities would come up at Chehedi and Pathardi.

The projects are intended to provide dedicated parking and holding infrastructure for freight vehicles entering the city.

Officials said rising freight movement and increasing traffic pressure have created the need for organised truck management systems, reported The Times of India.

The proposal forms part of broader traffic decongestion planning being undertaken by civic authorities.

Heavy vehicles moving through urban roads have remained a major traffic concern in several parts of Nashik.

Authorities indicated that the proposed terminals could help reduce roadside parking and improve vehicle movement.

The project is currently under planning and approval stages.

The development reflects growing focus on freight and logistics management in rapidly expanding tier-2 cities.
