Nashik to shift private buses from Mumbai Naka and Dwarka to Tapovan hub

The Nashik Municipal Corporation has decided to permanently shift private tour and travel buses operating from Mumbai Naka and Dwarka to a dedicated parking and transport facility at Tapovan.

Officials said the move is aimed at reducing congestion at two of the city’s busiest traffic junctions ahead of preparations for Simhastha Kumbh 2027.

Authorities are also carrying out infrastructure upgrades around Dwarka Circle, including road widening and underpass-related work.

The proposed Tapovan facility will include parking infrastructure and basic commuter amenities for passengers and operators, reported The Times of India.

Officials said traffic pressure from private buses has increased significantly in the Mumbai Naka and Dwarka areas in recent years.

The relocation plan forms part of broader traffic management and mobility planning being undertaken for the upcoming Kumbh gathering.

Authorities indicated that operational details and parking charges for the new hub are being finalised.

Residents and commuters have repeatedly raised concerns over congestion and roadside parking in the affected corridors.

The development highlights growing efforts to reorganise urban traffic systems ahead of large-scale religious events.
