Kolkata Metro adds more services on Blue and Green lines

Kolkata Metro has increased the number of train services on its Blue and Green lines from July 27, with the move aimed at improving commuter convenience and meeting rising passenger demand.

The enhanced operations are expected to reduce waiting times and improve the reliability of services on two of the city’s busiest Metro corridors.

The revised schedule also extends operational hours on weekdays and Saturdays as part of a trial initiative.

Metro authorities said the additional services are intended to encourage greater use of public transport while providing better connectivity across Kolkata.

Passenger response to the revised timetable will be monitored before a decision is taken on making the changes permanent.

The service enhancement forms part of Kolkata Metro’s continuing efforts to strengthen urban mobility and improve travel options for daily commuters.
