Jharkhand presents Rs 8,399 crore supplementary budget for FY27

The Jharkhand government on Friday tabled a supplementary budget of Rs 8,399 crore in the state assembly for the 2026-27 financial year, amid protests by the opposition over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations in the state.

Finance minister Radhakrishna Kishore presented the first supplementary budget for the current financial year in the assembly.

The budget was tabled while opposition members continued their protest over allegations of irregularities in recruitment examinations.

Earlier in February, Kishore had presented the state’s annual budget of Rs 1.58 lakh crore for the 2026-27 financial year in the assembly.

The Rs 8,399 crore proposal is the first supplementary budget presented by the Jharkhand government for the current fiscal.
