Rs 2,935 crore Indore-Ujjain Greenfield Corridor project launched

The foundation stone for the Rs 2,935 crore Indore-Ujjain Greenfield Corridor was laid on Saturday (June 21), marking the start of one of Madhya Pradesh’s largest road infrastructure projects.

The 48-km corridor will connect Indore and Ujjain and is expected to improve regional connectivity, reduce travel time and support economic activity between the two cities.

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav and Union housing and urban affairs minister Manohar Lal Khattar participated in the foundation-laying ceremony.

Officials said the project is expected to facilitate smoother movement of passengers and freight while strengthening links between two of the state’s most important urban centres.

Authorities indicated that improved connectivity would also support industrial, commercial and tourism-related activities in the region.

The project forms part of broader efforts to strengthen transport infrastructure across Madhya Pradesh.
