Rs 250 crore phase 1 work to begin on Indore–Pithampur corridor

Infrastructure work under Phase 1 of the Indore–Pithampur economic corridor is set to begin with an estimated investment of over Rs 250 crore.

The corridor spans 19.60 km and forms part of a larger Rs 2,500 crore project aimed at strengthening industrial infrastructure in the region.

Phase 1 will include development of road networks, drainage systems and power infrastructure, along with improved connectivity to the Super Corridor, reported The Times of India.

Around 300 hectares of land have been secured under a land pooling model, with nearly 60 per cent returned to farmers for industrial or commercial use.

Officials said the project is expected to improve freight movement, reduce travel time and support industries including automotive, engineering, pharmaceuticals and logistics.
