Rs 998 crore Indora-Dighori flyover in Nagpur set for August 1 opening

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is working to complete the Rs 998 crore Indora-Dighori flyover project in Nagpur, with the corridor targeted to open to traffic on August 1.

The 8.9-km project includes a 6.37-km elevated section connecting Indora, Kamal Chowk, Reshimbagh, Sakkardara, Bhande Plot and Dighori.

Officials said pending railway approvals for girder work near Pachpaoli remain among the final requirements before the flyover can be commissioned.

The project uses Ultra High Performance Fibre Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) technology and includes a nearly 3-km stretch built entirely using the material, a first for an Indian infrastructure project of this scale.

Authorities expect the flyover to reduce congestion across eastern Nagpur and improve connectivity between residential and commercial areas.

The project forms part of broader efforts to strengthen urban transport infrastructure in one of Maharashtra’s fastest-growing cities.
