New metro stretch to improve public transport in Delhi

Delhi is set to get the country’s first fully operational Ring Metro system as part of the ongoing expansion of the Delhi Metro network.

The project includes the 12.3 km Majlis Park–Maujpur-Babarpur extension of the Pink Line.

The corridor will include 10 stations, most of which are elevated.

The project also required construction of a new bridge across the Yamuna river, reported Construction World.

A double-decker viaduct combining a metro line and a flyover has also been built as part of the project.

Officials said the new metro extension will strengthen connectivity between different parts of the city and improve travel convenience for commuters.

The project forms part of broader efforts to expand Delhi’s metro network and strengthen public transport infrastructure in the capital.
