NHAI accelerates Dehradun bypass project to reduce city congestion

The National Highways Authority of India has accelerated work on a 12-km bypass project aimed at reducing traffic congestion in Dehradun.

The greenfield bypass is part of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor project.

Officials said around 44 per cent of the construction work has been completed.

The project is estimated to cost Rs 716 crore.

Once operational, the bypass is expected to divert through-traffic away from the city, reported The Times of India.

Authorities said the project would improve regional connectivity and reduce pressure on existing roads.

Construction activity is continuing across multiple sections of the alignment.

The bypass forms part of broader highway expansion efforts in the region.

The development reflects continued investment in road infrastructure and traffic management.
