Jaipur to Get Rs 450-Crore Infrastructure Upgrade

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Thursday laid the foundation and inaugurated a series of infrastructure projects worth over Rs 450 crore in the city, aimed at improving roads, sewerage systems and civic facilities.

According to The Times of India, the projects include elevated road works, resurfacing of major city roads, and expansion of sewerage networks. Officials said the upgrades are expected to ease mobility and strengthen urban infrastructure across several neighbourhoods.

Among the key works launched are:

• Construction of elevated roads at critical traffic junctions.
• Resurfacing and strengthening of arterial roads.
• Sewerage and drainage system expansion to reduce waterlogging.
• Beautification and civic utility works in select areas.

Sharma emphasised the state government’s focus on improving basic urban facilities, saying the projects would have a direct impact on daily life in Jaipur. He also linked the initiatives to the government’s broader goal of improving infrastructure in Rajasthan’s fast-growing urban centres.

“The work we are starting today is not just about roads and drains, it is about providing people a better quality of life,” The Times of India quoted Sharma as saying during the event.

The Chief Minister also said that the state government is aligning city-level projects with larger development plans to attract investment and improve the standard of living in Jaipur and other urban hubs.

With these projects, authorities expect smoother traffic movement, improved sanitation, and enhanced civic amenities in several parts of the city. The work will be carried out in phases, with some projects expected to be completed within the current financial year.
