Amaravati to host proposed health and education cities

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu informed cabinet colleagues that the proposed health city and education city will be set up in Amaravati.

The announcement was made during a cabinet meeting held on February 11, where decisions were taken across departments including irrigation, energy, housing, IT and municipal administration.

The cabinet was also informed that Rs 12,000 crore has been sanctioned under the Jal Jeevan Mission, with a target to complete the works within three years, reported The Times of India.

Other approvals included the Andhra Pradesh AI Living Labs project, a disaster recovery centre for the state data centre, and development of the Amaravati Marina under a public-private partnership mode.

Land allocations were cleared for a bio-gas plant in Eluru and a 250 MW solar project in Nandyal district, along with amendments to various state laws and policies.
