Ahmedabad flags 76 heat hotspots, yellow alert till April 27

Ahmedabad has identified 76 heat hotspots across the city as authorities issued a yellow alert from Tuesday (April 21) to April 27.

Temperatures are expected to reach around 43 degree celsius during the period.

Civic officials mapped localised high-risk zones including Lambha, Ramol and Vastral.

The identification of hotspots is part of efforts to monitor and manage heat exposure at a micro level, reported The Times of India.

Residents in affected areas have been advised to avoid outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours.

Authorities have also emphasised hydration and precautionary measures.

The move reflects targeted urban planning responses to rising temperatures.
