Delhi Metro to get 15 new interchange stations under expansion

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is set to strengthen connectivity across the capital by adding 15 new interchange stations, including five triple-line interchange hubs, as part of its ongoing Phase IV and proposed Phase V(A) expansion plans.

The additional interchange stations will allow passengers to switch between Metro corridors more easily, reducing travel time and improving network integration. Once completed, the expanded system will significantly increase the number of transfer points across Delhi’s Metro network, reported The Times of India.

The five triple-line interchange stations will join Kashmere Gate, currently the only station where three Metro corridors intersect. These hubs are expected to improve passenger movement across the rapidly expanding network while making journeys more seamless for daily commuters.

DMRC is currently constructing eight new corridors under the Phase IV and Phase V(A) programmes, with the new interchange stations forming a key part of the expansion aimed at meeting the capital’s growing public transport demand.
