Three transport projects identified to ease Bengaluru traffic

NITI Aayog has identified three major transport projects that should be expedited to tackle Bengaluru’s worsening traffic congestion and improve urban mobility.

The projects include the Peripheral Ring Road, Metro connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport, and the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project.

According to the report, completing these initiatives is critical to improving connectivity, supporting economic growth and enhancing the city’s investment appeal.

The assessment notes that delays in implementing key transport infrastructure have increased project costs and prolonged congestion.

It also highlights that while ring roads play an important role, they must be complemented by effective planning to prevent unchecked development along transport corridors.

Experts say faster implementation of the three projects would improve commuter movement, strengthen links between residential and commercial areas, and provide a more integrated transport network for the rapidly growing city, reported The Times of India.
