Delhi Metro’s Aerocity-Terminal 1 airport link targets 2028 completion

Work is progressing on Delhi Metro’s planned Aerocity-Terminal 1 airport corridor, a key project intended to strengthen connectivity between airport facilities and the capital’s expanding metro network.

The 2.3-km underground section forms part of the Golden Line and Phase V(A) expansion programme.

Officials said the corridor will provide a direct rail connection between Aerocity and Terminal 1 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, improving access for air passengers and airport workers, reported The Times of India.

The project is expected to enhance multimodal connectivity by integrating metro services with airport transport infrastructure.

Authorities have indicated that the corridor is targeted for completion in 2028.

The airport link forms part of broader efforts to expand Delhi Metro’s reach and improve public transport access across the National Capital Region.
