Cidco unveils Rs 16,250 crore budget for Navi Mumbai infrastructure

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) has unveiled a Rs 16,250 crore budget for the financial year 2026–27, with a focus on infrastructure and housing.

The budget includes plans to expand connectivity, metro networks and urban development projects across Navi Mumbai.

Cidco vice chairman and managing director Vijay Singhal said, “The budget reinforces our commitment to infrastructure and quality housing.”

He added that with the Navi Mumbai International Airport operational and developments such as Aerocity, EduCity and MediCity underway, the region is expected to emerge as a major economic hub.

The budget also includes projects such as Metro Line 8 and a six-lane elevated corridor linking Thane to the airport.

Housing expansion remains a key component, with thousands of new units planned.

While the budget projects a small surplus, concerns have been raised about pollution and water supply issues that remain unresolved.
