Wadsa–Gadchiroli rail line likely by mid-May to support steel hub

The first stretch of the Wadsa–Gadchiroli rail line is likely to become operational by the end of April or mid-May 2026.

The railway line forms part of a project spanning around 52 to 56 km and is expected to improve connectivity in the region.

Once operational, the line is expected to ease the movement of iron ore and support the emerging steel industry in Gadchiroli.

Improved rail access is also expected to reduce logistics costs linked to mineral transport.

The region, which has seen infrastructure development in recent years, is being positioned as a steel production hub.

Connectivity through the rail line is expected to support industrial activity and movement of goods.
