Gujarat gets Rs 17,366 crore boost for railway infrastructure

A record Rs 17,366 crore has been allocated for railway infrastructure development in Gujarat for the 2026–27 fiscal.

Officials said work is currently underway on railway projects worth Rs 1.28 lakh crore across the state.

As part of station redevelopment efforts, 87 stations have been identified under the Amrit Station Scheme, with work completed at 21 stations so far, reported The Indian Express.

Key stations including Ahmedabad, Sabarmati, Surat, Una and Somnath are among those undergoing upgrades.

The allocation is aimed at strengthening rail connectivity, improving passenger facilities and supporting infrastructure expansion across the state.
