Nashik clears 27 structures for bridge and road expansion

The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) removed 27 unauthorised structures in Milindnagar to make way for a planned 450-metre bridge and adjoining 100-metre roads over the Nandini river, officials said.

The demolition drive is part of infrastructure preparations ahead of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027, which is expected to increase traffic movement in the area, reported The Times of India.

More than 400 civic staff and 200 police personnel were deployed during the anti-encroachment drive.

Officials said residents were temporarily resettled to facilitate the construction work.
