Industrial garment hub near Indore expected to attract Rs 2,500 crore

Development of Ahilya Garment City in Barlai Jagir near Indore is gathering pace after two textile units acquired 24.5 hectares of land, officials said.

The project is expected to attract around Rs 2,500 crore in investment and generate nearly 30,000 jobs.

Planned across 33 hectares, the industrial area has an infrastructure budget of Rs 44 crore, reported The Times of India. The development will include manufacturing units, workers’ housing, health and safety facilities, education infrastructure and sports amenities.

Officials have been directed to complete infrastructure development by Simhastha Mahaparva in 2028 to support employment opportunities in the region.
