Surat civic body presents Rs 10,593 crore draft budget

The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has proposed a draft budget of Rs 10,593 crore for the financial year 2026-27, officials said.

The budget does not propose any tax increase and outlines planned expenditure on civic infrastructure and development works across the city, reported The Times of India.

Officials said the proposed spending focuses on strengthening urban services and supporting ongoing infrastructure requirements.

The draft budget forms part of the civic body’s annual financial planning process.
