Innovation City project announced near Navi Mumbai airport at Davos

The Maharashtra government has announced plans to develop India’s first Innovation City near the Navi Mumbai airport, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The proposed Innovation City will offer plug-and-play infrastructure for researchers, innovators, start-ups and global technology firms.

Officials said the project aims to create an ecosystem that allows companies to begin operations quickly without extensive initial setup, reported The Times of India.

Tata Sons has committed an investment of Rs 91,000 crore for the project, providing a major boost to the initiative. The development is expected to position Maharashtra as a key hub for innovation and advanced technology.

Further details on the project’s timeline and implementation are expected to be announced by the state government.
