Delhi govt rolls out over Rs 200 crore projects in Kirari–Najafgarh belt

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday said that projects worth more than Rs 200 crore are being launched in the Kirari–Najafgarh belt, adding that the new works are expected to address long-pending infrastructure challenges in the region.

She made the announcement while addressing the Tridev Conference of the BJP at Dichau Kalan in Najafgarh.

Gupta described the ‘Tridevs’ — Panna Pramukhs, Booth Pramukhs and Shakti Kendra convenors — as the backbone of the organisation and said their work has helped accelerate development across the Kirari–Najafgarh area.

She said the Delhi government has prioritised village and colony development by ensuring adequate budgetary allocations for MPs and MLAs. According to her, major projects linked to drains, roads, sewerage and other civic facilities have gained momentum as a result.

Reiterating her announcement, the chief minister said projects worth over Rs 200 crore are being rolled out in the Kirari–Najafgarh region to tackle long-standing civic issues.

Gupta said rural parts of Delhi had faced prolonged neglect and cited waterlogging, broken roads and the absence of sewer lines and drainage as key problems. She alleged that previous governments did not address the concerns of rural communities.

“For the first time, our government has undertaken development after closely understanding the real issues of village areas. Projects worth Rs 200–250 crore have been initiated so that every problem in the region is addressed with a permanent solution,” she said.

She added that the government remains committed to holistic development and assured that no project in the area would face a shortage of funds.
