Foreign investors turn to joint deals with Indian real estate partners: Report

Foreign investors are increasingly partnering with Indian companies to invest in the country’s real estate sector, with co-investment rising over sixfold to USD 726.58 million in the September quarter of 2025, according to real estate consultancy Vestian.

Data from Vestian showed that direct foreign investment in Indian real estate fell 68% year-on-year to USD 140.69 million during July–September 2025, compared with USD 436.47 million in the same quarter last year.

In contrast, co-investments by foreign and domestic players surged from USD 109.76 million in the third quarter of 2024 to USD 726.58 million in Q3 2025.

Vestian said global uncertainties have prompted foreign investors to share exposure and risk with local partners, driving the sharp increase in joint investments across real estate assets.
