IIT Bhubaneswar, ISRO sign pact for joint research on Bay of Bengal dynamics

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on research and development projects, an official said.

The agreement between ISRO’s National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) and IIT-Bhubaneswar was signed on October 17, and the official statement was released on Friday.

The collaboration will focus on studying physical and biogeochemical oceanic processes and analysing shoreline change dynamics along the western Bay of Bengal, the statement said.

“The pilot phase will involve mapping and analysing nearshore dynamics from the Sundarbans delta to northern Andhra Pradesh, with potential extension to other Indian coastal regions,” it added.
