UP Govt Approves 3,601 New Posts in Urban Local Bodies

The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned 3,601 new posts across municipal bodies to strengthen local governance and improve civic services.

The move nearly doubles the existing municipal services cadre, taking the total to 6,686 positions from 3,085 earlier, The Times of India reported.

The new posts will include engineers, sanitation officers, accountants, planners, and IT specialists to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Recruitment will be conducted through the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission.

The state government said smaller towns and municipal councils will benefit most from the expansion.
