Belagavi proposes Rs 18 crore e-bus station to boost green transport

Authorities in Belagavi have proposed an e-bus station project on a 5.5-acre site, aimed at strengthening the city’s public transport system.

The proposed station, estimated to cost Rs 18 crore, will include bus bays, a workshop, parking facilities, and charging stations for electric buses.

Officials said the proposal is part of the rollout of 100 new e-buses under the central government’s PM e-Drive scheme.

The facility is expected to serve as a key charging and maintenance hub for the new fleet.

City officials said the initiative will help promote cleaner mobility and reduce operating costs for public transport.
