IRCON signs MoU with Coal India to develop rail infrastructure

IRCON International Ltd and Coal India Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development of rail infrastructure for coal transportation and connectivity.

The agreement, announced on Wednesday, aims to strengthen rail logistics for Coal India’s subsidiaries and improve the evacuation of coal from mines.

According to officials, the partnership will cover the planning, design, and construction of new rail lines and sidings to boost transport efficiency.

The MoU was signed in the presence of senior officials from both public sector enterprises.

Coal India is one of the country’s largest users of rail logistics, transporting more than 80 per cent of its coal output via rail. The collaboration with IRCON is expected to enhance capacity and streamline operations.
